Sports have become an integral part of the curriculum in present day scenario. SFS family is proud to have National Level shooters and skaters.

William Blake rightly said that a child solely has the sensitivity and ability to fathom the universe in its entirety.   A calendar full of interesting activities adds depth and variety to each child’s school day and makes it special. The age appropriate activities foster intellectual growth, ethical awareness, academic excellence and sportsmanship. Conducting these at Intra Level and Inter Level ensures hundred percentage participation. The bouquet of activities includes Hasya Kavi Sammelan, Paper craft, Book Mela, Debate, Book Review,  One Act Skit, JAM, Quiz, Poetry Recitation, Poster Making, Handwriting, Show and Tell, Art Activity, Slogan Writing and Percussion Presentation to name a few.

Regular Class Judgment and Board Judgment leads to a vibrant and conducive class environment. The displayed students’ work helps to develop a sense of achievement and acts as an inspiration.

Meet The Principal Day

The novel concept  of "Meet The Principal Days" has been incepted by our visionary Principal, Mrs. Anita Malhotra. Each class puts up a gala thematic show where each student performs to the best of his or her ability. This forms an honest and transparent bridge of communication between the parents and the school authorities. The endeavour has been a resounding success and will continue to enhance the personalities of our students.

Aryabhatta Mathematics Competition

The prestigious Aryabhatta Mathematics Inter School Competition was started in 1983. This Annual event attracts the elite schools of New Delhi. It fosters a love for Mathematics and tests the logical and analytical abilities of the students. The competition is held for V and VIII standards. Apart from a cash prize, merit certificates and mementoes to individual achievers, the Rolling Trophies for classes V and VIII go to the schools with the highest and second highest average percentage.

Inter School Roller Skating Championship

Every skill learned with friends rounds up a child’s personality. Sportsmanship and team play go a long way in shaping a child’s future. The Inter School Roller Skating Championship has been a salient feature for the last 17 years. The school has winged many a winners at the National Level. The fitness programme is an integral part of the training process resulting in producing enthusiastic, healthy and talented skaters. The Championship encompasses the Rink Races, Artistic and Pair Skating, Races on Adjustable and Inline Skates, Fancy Dress on Skates and Hockey Matches for all age groups from 6 to 16 years. A Rolling Trophy is awarded to the school securing the highest points.

House System
Junior

 To enhance student participation in various co curricular activities, the students of classes III to V are assigned Houses. Each House is headed by a Chief Warden who is assisted by a team of teachers and House Captains. The House Captains are selected after a rigorous screening process. The Houses provide an impetus to the child’s inherent leadership qualities.

Special Assemblies

Integral to our school’s aim is the development of a strong sense of community amongst the students. Children join hands to celebrate days and festivals of national importance during the special assemblies. These help to melt the religious and cultural barriers. The students get the feel of the intricacies of different festivals like Id, Diwali, Gandhi Jayanti, Janamashtami, Christmas etc.

Celebration of Weeks

A week is dedicated each month to activities related to a particular theme. As an initiative of our Principal, it provides a framework to accomplish in-depth knowledge and learning. The Adventure Week, the Literary Week, the Leadership Week, India Week, Health Week et al, equip the students with intellectual and practical skills for a life of significance.

Kiddies Kitchenette

Healthy eating habits if ingrained early last a lifetime. The school is committed to the cause of containing the scourge of childhood obesity, juvenile diabetes, malnutrition etc. Little chefs of Pre School and Pre Primary are encouraged to prepare healthy snacks like tri coloured sandwiches, embellished biscuits, fruit chaat, salads with sprouts and drinks like lemonade. 

Scouts and Guides Training Camp was organized at Summer Fields School by the Scouts and Guides Organization. It was held from 1st Nov’08 to 6th Nov’08. Eighty two students of Junior and Senior wings participated in this camp. The Principal, Mrs. Anita Malhotra awarded certificates to meritorious students on 6th Nov.’08.
Mr. Sunil Bhatt attended the prestigious National Integration Camp of Scouts and Guides. It was inaugurated by the Honourable Speaker of Delhi Legislative Assembly Mr. Prem Singh. Scouts from State Units also participated in this Camp.
Mr. Sunil Bhatt and Reem Qamar of Class V were invited for Bal Diwas Celebrations held at Rashtrapati Bhavan on 14th Nov.’08.

The opportunity was momentous as they were in the August and rare company of the President of India, Shrimati Pratibha Patil.
