Assessment is interwoven with daily learning & helps students to find out what
they already know enabling teachers to plan the next stage of learning. Assessment
for us is a continual process of feedback & further growth. There is continuous
assessment of the students throughout the year. Promotion is based on the cumulative
performance of the students.

As per the Circular No 39/20-09-2009,40/29-09-2009 and 42/12-10-2009 by the CBSE,
changes in the Examination System, Assessment and Grading of the students at the
Secondary level have been introduced from the Academic session 2009-10.
The salient features of the new system are as follows:
- There will be no Class X Board Examination for students presently
studying in Class IX in Senior Secondary schools affiliated to CBSE.
- Students of Senior Secondary Schools who wish to move out of
the CBSE system after Class X on account of transfer or any other reason will be
required to take the Board’s External(pen and paper written/online) Examination
after the schooling in class X as per the CCE Scheme.
- Further, these students who wish to assess themselves vis-à-vis
their peers or for self assessment will be allowed to appear in an On Demand (pen
and paper/online) Proficiency test. This Proficiency test will
be different from the Board’s External (pen and paper/written/online)Examination.
(Note: This test will have NO bearing on admission and /allocation
of stream in Class XI.
- An Aptitude Test developed
by the CBSE will also be available to the students. The Aptitude Test along with
other school records and CCE would help students, parents and teachers in deciding
the choice of subjects in class XI.
(Note: The CBSE has authorized the schools to conduct their own
Aptitude Test and also determine their own criteria for allocation
of streams in class XI)
- In general, for the purpose of the CCE, an
academic year has been divided into two terms.
The first term will be from April-September and the second term
from October-March.
- The CCE is intended to provide holistic profile of the learner
through evaluation of both Scholastic and Co-Scholastic areas spread over two terms
each during two academic years.
