  • Young Aryabhattas Felicitated

    32nd Aryabhatta Felicitation Ceremony was held on 24th February, 2015 to honour and acknowledge the budding mathematicians who have brought laurels to their Alma Mater and also to encourage and motivate the other students.
    The Chief Guest for the ceremony was Dr. Surajmani Stella Kujur, Deputy Director of Education (South East). Other dignitaries who graced the occasion were Mr. S.R Kapoor and Anand Swaroop, Academics & K.R. Mangalam group of world schools. The programme commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp.
    Extending a hearty welcome to the distinguished guests, the school Principal Mrs. Rema Alex Daniel apprised the audience of the history of this famous competition, which promotes logical thinking and approach, has carved a niche for itself for the past thirty two years. She further congratulated the young mathematics wizards for their acumen in dealing with numbers. She mentioned that more than 2400 students from 80 schools of Delhi & NCR took the exam this year and the exam is garnering popularity year after year. Her message to the young minds was to nurture their ideas, be innovative and think out of the box to reach the highest echelons of success.
    The class five winners Trophy was bagged by Modern Delhi Public School, Faridabad and Runner’ s up trophy was lifted byDelhi Public School, Faridabad. Class-VIII Winner’s Trophy was lifted by the students of Modern Delhi Public School, Faridabad and the Runner’s up Trophy was received by the students of Tagore Academy Public School, Ballabhgarh who proved their mettle in the “Aryabhatta Hall of Fame”for the first time.
    Addressing the august gathering the Hon’ble Chief Guest congratulated the students for their hard work and determination. She highlighted the role of the teachers in nurturing the students andhelping them to inculcate qualities of head and heart. She urged the students to have fire in their bellies to reach stellar heights.
    A precursor to the event was a cultural presentation which left the audience awestruck-whether it was ‘ Kalbelia – a Folk dance’ or The Qawali Presentation – signifying the omnipresence & omnipotenceof God, the audience was enthralled. The song sung by junior school students which was composed by thestudents of International school of Lusaka in Zambia was given thumbs up by all. Kudos to the Maths Department for making the mega event a success.
