NEWSLETTER : CLASS-I –JULY-AUGUST 2010

Dear Parents,

“Innovation distinguishes between a leader and a follower.” S.Jobs

The school is just a building unless resonating with the laughter and incessant chatter of its lovely students. ‘AND THEY ARE BACK AFTER THEIR SUMMER BREAK TO FILL OUR SCHOOL…WOW’. The holiday activities which were carefully designed and put on the website must have added verve to their lazy hours. We are sure that their batteries are all charged up as there is a bouquet of new activities lined up especially for our enthusiastic learners.

At Summer Fields School we create the leaders for our proud nation which incidentally is entering its 64th year of Independence. Let’s rejoice in our shared inheritance. A great nation is built on the foundation of tolerance and peaceful coexistence. Celebrating different festivals nurtures these qualities. The months of July and August offer an array of these.

Activities for the months of July and August

  • Play hopscotch on the puddles
  • Go for a bicycle ride
  • Watch the ants gearing up for the rainy season and the winters

CLASS  V

Dear Parents,

We at Summer Fields are all ready to welcome our students refreshed and recharged after a very enjoyable Summer Vacation. Hope you all had a great time during the vacations and I also hope now the youngsters are all set to take a leap into the forthcoming months with a lot of zeal and enthusiasm.

This year, we had given fun filled activity oriented holiday homework, which the children must have enjoyed doing. Please ensure that your child submits the holiday homework in time as the homework will be graded according to the ‘CCE’ system. Any child who does not submit the homework in time will be given Grade ‘D’. The school will be organizing workshops for parents shortly, so that all the parents are familiar with the new ‘CCE’system. We would appreciate if you all attend these workshops.

All the budding mathematicians & Scientists are simply going to love the month of July with the ‘Science Week’ coming up from 26th to 30th July 2010. Each and every child should try and participate during this week to be able to get an outstanding grade according to the ‘CCE’ system.

To mark the 63rd year of independence of our country, in August we are planning a special assembly on ‘Independence Day’. To commemorate the occasion we are also planning a ‘Leadership Week’ from 16th to 20th August 2010. In order to make both these occasions a roaring success we would like every child to be a part of these celebrations. During the ‘Leadership Week’ we are planning to have a soft board competition where we expect all children to participate actively.

After the scorching summers we have had this year, we all keep looking up to the sky hoping to see those big dark clouds. Oh yes! We can spot them, and wow! It has started raining. What a down-pour. Oh God! I am stuck, as I am not carrying my umbrella or an extra pair of shoes. How will I go home?  Please do not let this happen to your child. Ensure he/she carries an umbrella and an extra pair of shoes during the monsoon season.

Art and craft are activities which are enjoyed by all the children. However, if they do not carry their art files and colours to school, it is time wasted. TIME they could have used productively and creatively. This is the TIME children could have given vent to their dreams and feelings. Therefore, kindly ensure that your child carries his/her art and craft material according to the timetable.

‘TGIF’-Yes, Thank God It Is Friday. Friday means Saturday and Sunday are following. But Friday also means House Uniform with duly polished shoes. Friday also means school time is from 8.00 AM to 4.00 PM. Please give two lunch boxes to your child on Fridays as we are resuming with our Friday club activities wherein children stay back in school till 4.00 o’clock.

Conforming to the school uniform will be highly appreciated. Please send your child smartly dressed to school with well ironed clothes with well polished shoes. Habit to be neatly dressed becomes a habit for years to come. So let us start young. Wearing a watch or coloured hair band is not allowed. Please discourage this habit.

We are planning an OPEN HOUSE for you all to meet the teachers on 17TH July2010.

Looking forward to your support as always.

With warm regards,

Principal                                                                                              Primary Incharge
