MUN –Session held at Summer Fields, Kailash Colony

Aiming to enhance students’ Public Speaking & Research Skills Summer Fields School, Kailash Colony, held MUN
( Model United Nation) session from 20th July to 22nd July 2011. The Model UN, a stimulation activity, focuses on civics, communications, globalization & multilateral diplomacy.

The Programme kickstarted with an exhibition where classes from 8thto 12th depicted and presented the various member countries of the UN. The Chief Guests were Mr Danial Rignault from the French Embassy & Mrs. Manisha Mishra, a renowned artist. The first prize was bagged by Saudi Arabia for their remarkable presentation.

The Celebration on the 2nd day witnessed the General Assembly Session where students presented the 21 countries of the UN. The theme of the debate for all the delegates was ‘Climate Change & Scarcity of Water’. The Chief Guest was Mr. Charu Kartikeya, Journalist & Lok Sabha TV Anchor.

The Security Council Session was held on the last day. The agenda for the session was ‘ Child Soldiers’. All student delegates were applauded for their stupendous performance by Miss Rineeta Naik from the UN Press Section, Delhi. The three-day long celebrations drew to a close with the valedictory function on the last day.

The Principal, Mrs Rema Alex Daniel, congratulated the students for their commendable performance & added that the session has offered a global perspective to the student on major International & Peace related issues in the progressive World.
